A small island that rests at the tip of Quintana Roo, Isla Holbox is four hours north (including the ferry ride) of Cancun and offers a tranquil and romantic getaway. The are no paved roads, village residents bustle around on electric golf carts. The gulf side of the island is bounded by long sandy beaches where birds gather in the sun.
